JOHN SHEARLOCK
Director
John graduated from Bournemouth University's MA in Computer Animation with distinction in 1998, after directing a four minute computer animated short. Joining Loose Moose when its CG department was in its infancy, he has helped develop it into the award-winning department it is today.
Having supplied computer animation and effects for over twenty commercials and two short films (including 'Thunder Pig' which scooped best script as enhanced by Special effects at Imagina), John entered the world of directing, co-directing the promotional video "Superhero Music" for Fingathing in 2004. "Superhero Music" won a silver award at the Kalamazoo Animation Festival 2004 and has participated in numerous festivals in America and Europe.
John recently completed his solo-directing debut in May 2006 with "Alone Amongst Friends", a music promo for band 'the wood for the trees'.
John now manages the CG department where he is a resident CG director / animator, and has responsibilities ranging from character animation, modelling and character rigging to lighting, texturing, rendering and particle effects. John also recently attended the Caribbean animation festival Animae Caribe as an international guest speaker, where he gave a number of talks on computer animation and special effects for film and commercials.
